It’s my last full day in Kanha and today, as part of the project, I travel to a local village to interview the Forest Committee. Fifteen members of the committee show up and we are shown kindness and warm hospitality.

Mid-assignment update

Another early start and this morning we leave the vehicle behind and go in search of tigers on the back of an elephant. It’s a novel experience. We crash through the seemingly impenetrable forest but there is little that halts the momentum of an elephant..

First sightings

It’s 5:30AM, I’ve been asleep for just two hours after a day and a half travelling and I can’t believe I’m having to get up. Even so, I spash cold water over my head, eat some toothpaste and grab the (fortunately pre-packed) camera bags.
